Italian is an excellent choice for double majors. It combines well with studies in other foreign languages, History, Political Science, International Relations, International Business, Communication, Film Studies, Foreign Language Education, Medicine, as well as the sciences.

The university offers a Master of Foreign Language Education program leading to Teaching Licensure that begins in the summer and may be completed in four quarters, either in conjunction with or after your Italian degree.

We have an outstanding and affordable study abroad program in Lecce that has received rave reviews from participants.

Our courses are innovative and stimulating. They are designed to develop and refine language skills at all levels.

A number of fellowship and prize opportunities are offered by the Department of French and Italian, as well as the College of Humanities.

Our students have access to native speakers of Italian among the professors, graduate teaching assistants, and participants in the Italian Club.

TheItalian Club is extraordinarily active. They screen films, participate in community events, such as the annual Italian Festival, and organize dinners and cultural events for students as well as Italians and Italian/Americans in Columbus.
