Dr. Elena Past, Associate Professor, Wayne State University
Elena Past is Associate Professor of Italian at Wayne State University. Her research interests encompass twentieth century Italian literature and film, and in particular crime fiction, the eco-noir, and ecocinema studies. Her book, Methods of Murder: Beccarian Introspection and Lombrosian Vivisection in Italian Crime Fiction, was published with University of Toronto Press in 2012. She has published articles on Dario Argento, Carlo Lucarelli, Gianrico Carofiglio, Wes Anderson, and Emanuele Crialese, and is currently working on a book on contemporary Italian cinema and the environment.
