Mrs. Brenda Drake, wife of Ohio State President Dr. Michael Drake, visited two classes in French and Italian on Thursday, October 8: Prof. Margaret Flinn’s course on French animated films and comic books, and Prof. Janice Aski’s course on the evolution and diversion of the Romance languages. Mrs. Drake, an attorney and self-declared Francophile, has studied French off and on for many years and takes frequent trips to France to brush up on her speaking skills. She is a great example of someone who has continued to use and improve the language skills she gained in college and to seek to understand and appreciate another culture. She is a great advocate for foreign language study at Ohio State.
