ITALIAN 5051: Latin and the Romance Languages

Examines the socio-historical factors and the linguistic processes that contributed to the formation of the Romance languages and to their divergences. Course taught in English.
Prereq: Equivalent of 1103 in Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, or Latin, or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 692, French 692, RomLing 5051 (692), or Clas 5051. Cross-listed in Clas and RomLing.
