ITALIAN 8234: Realism and Idealism in the Renaissance

Focus on some of the dominant intellectual currents of the Renaissance, from Machiavelli's pragmatism to neo-Platonic discourse from Petrarch through Castiglione. Content varies.
Prereq: Doctorial and MA candidates, or qualified undergraduates with permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 622 and 625. Repeatable to a maximum of 9 cr hrs. FL Admis Cond course.
