Dr. Adams' research centers on the plurality of world French standards and the negotiation of identity and relationships via language. She received her Doctorate in French linguistics from The University of Texas at Austin with her dissertation entitled, "Perceptions of variation in second-generation Montrealers' speech: methods for remote ethnolinguistic research".
Originally from Florida, Dr. Adams obtained her dual Bachelor's in French & Francophone Studies and Linguistics from The University of Florida, with a minor in Arabic Language and Literature.
