Conversation Hours/Free Tutoring

In Spring 2018, free individual Italian tutoring and conversation practice will be offered at the following times and locations. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the door at the beginning of each session. When all time slots are taken, the session is closed. Conversation and tutoring hours begin in the second week of the semester and continue through the last day of classes.

Conversation counts for extra credit in Italian 1101-1103. For every 3 sessions you attend, 1% is added to your course grade, up to a maximum of 3%. You may attend only one conversation session per day. After you have earned three points, you are welcome to attend conversation hours for extra practice, without credit! There is no extra credit for tutoring.

The last 3 weeks of classes are usually in high demand, so plan accordingly and begin accumulating conversation points early in the semester. Attendance at selected events of the Italian department or of the Italian Club may be counted as the equivalent of a conversation session. Watch the Announcements on Carmen for news about these events.
