Conversation Hours/Free Tutoring

In Autumn 2018, free individual Italian tutoring and conversation practice will be offered at the following times. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the door at the beginning of each session. When all time slots are taken, the session is closed. Conversation and tutoring hours begin in the second week of the semester and continue through the last day of classes.

Students in 1101-1103 courses that meet 3 days per week have required conversation hours (not for extra credit) but may earn extra credit after required conversations are complete. Please see your syllabus for details. Students in other 1101-1103 courses earn extra credit as follows. For every 3 sessions you attend, 1% is added to your final course grade, up to a maximum of 3%. You may attend only one conversation session per day. There is no extra credit for tutoring.

The last 3 weeks of classes are in high demand, so begin accumulating conversation points early in the semester. Attendance at selected events of the Italian department or of the Italian Club may be counted as the equivalent of an extra-credit conversation session. Watch the Announcements on Carmen for news about these events.
