Ouissem Belgacem is a French former high-performance soccer player and writer of Tunisian origin. He played soccer for Toulouse FC from the ages of 13 to 18 years old. He published his first autobiography in 2021, Adieu ma honte (Fayard), in which he reveals the hardships of accepting one's homosexuality when living in a working-class neighborhood, growing up in a Muslim family, and making progress in the field of soccer. In his second autobiography, Yamma (2024, Flammarion), he writes about his mother and her life challenges.
Belgacem has given interventions in numerous awareness raising events against homophobia in soccer since the release of his book and has also produced a documentary on homophobia in soccer.
