I’m Chris Huffman, and I’m a member of the PR committee of TEDxOhioStateUniversity. We are a student-run organization on campus whose mission is to bring “Ideas Worth Spreading” to the Ohio State community. Annually, we hold a main event in the spring that features ideas from students, faculty, and alumni of the university. The event consists of critically selected speakers who spread their ideas and innovations through short, yet powerful talks to a vast audience.
On February 26th, TEDxOhioStateUniversity will hold its annual event, and the theme for this event is Bloom. With Bloom, we want to highlight that we are still able to rise above the negativity that has plagued our lives for so long in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and look to the future in the hopes of bigger and better things. We also want to represent the ways in which we can all grow in our everyday lives, which can be done through the spreading of ideas. With 12 amazing speakers and one amazing performing group, we promise that the diverse variety of talent on the Bloom stage will be entertaining for all, and hopefully their ideas will inspire you to bloom in your own ways! The event starts at 12pm at Mershon Auditorium and will end tentatively around 4pm. An audience gift and snacks will be given at the event!
Tickets are currently on sale for TEDxOhioStateUniversity: Bloom. They are $15 for students and $20 for non-students. We will also be livestreaming the event due to the ongoing pandemic, and tickets to attend the livestream will be $10.
Since ticket sales have just begun, I wanted to reach out to you and inform you of this awesome event and ask, is there any way for you to share this with the students in the Arts and Humanities? This event would be a great opportunity for students to engage with the OSU community and hear some amazing TEDx talks (especially many that will be relevant to students in the arts and humanities).
