Troy Weider, BS Finance and French 2018, was recently featured in L'Alsace, one of the two main newspapers in the area of Alsace, France. As a student at Ohio State, Troy wrote an Honors thesis on the Alsatian origins of Castroville, Texas. Having read this thesis, a journalist from L'Alsace reached out to Troy. He wanted to make a special edition to the paper on the Castroville Alsatian colony, to mark the 175^th anniversary of its establishment, and to write an article about Troy's research. Troy studied abroad in Strasbourg during autumn of 2017. You can read about his study abroad experience here. He still visits France and practices his French whenever he can.
