Congratulations to Dr. April Weintritt, who has just been appointed Assistant Professor of Teaching in Italian. April earned her PhD in Italian from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2018, with research and teaching interests in Italian Renaissance as well as second language pedagogy and intercultural competence. She is Assistant Director of the Italian Language Program and teaches a variety of courses in Italian language and culture. FRIT is thrilled that April has embarked on this new faculty track in our department, which will afford her new opportunities for growth in both her teaching and research.
