Congratulations to us! FRIT has been selected by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States to join its prestigious network of Centers of Excellence!

Housed in 22 major research universities in the US, Centers of Excellence receive yearly financial support and project-based support. They promote Franco-American relations through interdisciplinary teaching programs, encourage public-private and research partnerships with France; and innovate to encourage student interest in France, the French language and francophone literature. With the support of the French Cultural Services, the newly created Center of Excellence at Ohio State aims to create a writing residency for French speaking novelists named “Une chambre à soi/A Room of One’s Own”. Its goal consists in bringing major writers to Columbus who will work on literary projects, while giving lectures to the OSU and Columbus communities and contributing to classes at Ohio State.

A special congratulations and thank you to Professor Benjamin Hoffmann, who will be the inaugural director of the OSU Center of Excellence.
