Kickstart Kreyòl, designed by French and francophone studies Assistant Professor Ryan Joyce, is entering its second year with a mission to expand Haitian Creole language education and strengthen cultural understanding in Central Ohio. Launched in 2025 as a free course for adults, the program helps educators and community members develop practical language skills to better communicate with Ohio’s growing Haitian population, which numbers about 50,000 residents.
