This recent US News and World Report article discusses why majoring in the humanities can be a good career move. 

A 2021 report says” Economically, arts and culture contribute 4.5% of U.S. gross domestic product (GDP), an amount larger than the share contributed by industries as diverse as construction, agriculture, and transportation. 

According to Why the Arts Matter in Ohio (2023), nationally the creative industries represent 4.4% of the Nation’s GDP and 4.85 million jobs – includes lots of other amazing data!

This recent Chronicle article discusses that salaries for Humanities degree holders “are comparable to or better than the salaries of workers who majored in most non-humanities fields.”
