Léonie Bischoff received a diploma in comics from the Saint-Luc Institute in Brussels, where she still lives. Anaïs Nin: A Sea of Lies, her 2020 graphic biography, won the Audience Favorite prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. Other works include Hoodoo Darlin’, Princess Suplex, and more. She is a member of the Comics Creators Against Sexism Collective.Léonie Bischoff will be CXC’s first festival guest coming from Belgium, one of the world centers of comics and cartooning. This career-spanning interview will cover Léonie's extensive comics output, both in Europe and in North America--including her recently translated comics biography, Anaïs Nin: A Sea of Lies (which, in its original French form, won the Audience Favorite prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival) and her upcoming comic, The Great Turkey Walk, a classic American story of grit, ingenuity, friendship, and turkeys! CXC is one of only two North American appearances this year by Léonie.
