Letters of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation are required from two faculty members or one faculty member and one Graduate Teaching Associate. Please have them emailed by the recommender to Elizabeth Wigal. Letters should not exceed a few brief paragraphs.

Statement of Purpose

In the field below, please submit a 300-500 word statement that explains your educational and career goals, how those involve French or Italian, as well as how the Departmental award for which you are applying will help to support those goals.

If you wish to be considered for the Arthur C. and Laura Bell Chamblin Jahn Memorial scholarship, please specifically address your interest in accounting or another area of business.

If you wish to be considered for the Ornelio and Diamond DePietro Scholarship funds, please address your motivation and plans for a career in K-12 education.

If you wish to be considered for the Global Mary Paris Scholarship, submit a personal statement that indicates your campus, and contains two paragraphs (max 250 words each). In the first paragraph, you will demonstrate financial need. In the second paragraph, you will explain why the Global May Paris Program is important to reach your personal and professional goals.

Letter of Intent to Apply

If the program for which you intend to apply does not yet have applications open (for Spring 2024, for example), you may provide us with a letter of intent to apply (including relevant program location and dates). In all cases, no study abroad scholarships are disbursed until after the student provides proof of enrollment in the study abroad program to the Department of French and Italian.
