We had a group of students apply for our annual FRIT scholarship competition this year! Each of our students are examples of academic excellence. We congratulate every one of our scholarship recipients from this year! Director of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Professor of French, Dr. Jennifer Willging expressed this congratulatory message for our students:
Congratulations to our 2023 FRIT Scholarship Competition winners! Recipients earned between $1,000-$1,500 each to study or conduct an internship in Paris, Nantes, Montpellier, and Aix-en-Provence (France); in Bologna and Lecce, Italy; and in Morocco. The Department is delighted to help make possible, through the generosity of numerous FRIT alumni and friends, our students' ambitions to improve their language skills and intercultural competence and to learn about new places and cultures. We encourage current majors and minors who want to follow in these recipients' footsteps to apply for study abroad, a FRIT scholarship, and any number of other scholarships for which they are eligible next January. Study abroad is an essential element of a well-rounded, global education, and therefore supporters of FRIT and OSU have donated millions of dollars to make it accessible to as many students as possible. Claim some of this bounty and become a truly global citizen.
