FRIT Award Winners
FRIT students and faculty were well represented in this year's funding award list through the Center for Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. The Department also had a great year of awarding scholarships and prizes to our undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty. Among this year's funding recipients and award winners were the following FRIT folks:
- Genevieve Berendt, French & Francophone Studies PhD student, who won the French & Francophone Studies for her dissertation research entitled, “Ecofeminist Calls from Forests and Gardens in Medieval French Literature" and for attending the Newberry Library French Paleography Workshop
- Samanta Buffa, Italian Studies PhD student, who won the Bulatkin Summer Prize, Felice M. Graduate Scholarship, Graduate Emerging Technology Research Grant, and Graduate Associate Teaching Award
- Michela Bertossa, Italian Studies PhD student, who won the CLLC Felice M. Graduate Scholarship
- Stefani Scimeca, Italian Studies PhD student, who won the CLLC Advanced Language Institute Target Language Graduate Internship
- Professors April Weintritt (Italian) & Adela Lechintan-Siefer (French) & Drs. Rosa Di Grottole & Laura Siragusa (Italian), all of whom won the CLLC Associated Faculty & Professors of Teaching Grant
- Dr. Ryan Joyce (French), who won the CLLC Pedagogy Advancement Series Award
- Iman Benlemlih (French minor), who won the CLLC Advanced Language Institute Intermediate/Advanced Study Abroad Grant
- Isabelle Laidly (French minor), who won the CLLC Undergraduate Study Abroad Grant
