Each year, the Department of French & Italian participates in an exchange program with Université de Rennes. Part of this exchange involves welcoming a French language instructor to teach at Ohio State for an entire academic year.
This year, we are pleased to welcome Julie Tanvé. Julie's academic interests include teaching, international law, political science, and discovering new cultures. Julie will teach French 1102 in AU23.
My name is Julie, and I'm French. I come from the region of Bretagne where I grew up. I have a law degree and a master 1 in European law from the University of Rennes 1. For my Master, I did an Erasmus, a European exchange program, in Budapest, Hungary. I am at OSU as a French lecturer for this year thanks to an agreement with OSU and my university. I came here to learn more about the US and your system, but also because, in my opinion, it's very important to travel and discover new cultures.
