ASC News and Update feature Assisstant Professor of French, Lucille Toth, and her project "A dance project with Ohio-based female immigrants questions gender and mobility"

Choreographed by Lucille Toth, professor in the Department of French and Italian, On Board(hers) is a dance project that explores how global mobility is gendered. Representing different ages (18 to 72 years old), ethnicities (Estonia, France, Ghana, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Philippines, Syria, Sweden, Uganda), sexual orientations, socio-economic statuses and levels of education, the women meet every month to produce a unique testimony of the ways in which stories of immigrants are part of contemporary national and global history. Their first public showing will be held at the Beeler Gallery on Dec. 11.
