On December 13 of this semester, Samuel Palazzo, who is a History major and Italian minor and has taken a number of courses in Italian, including four with me (and a fifth this coming spring!), successfully defended "Rogerios Rex: The Formation of a Sicilian Kingship", an ambitious and exemplary senior thesis (written under the guidance of History Professor Sara Butler) regarding the place of interfaith multiculturalism in the Norman Kingdom of Sicily in the Middle Ages.
