COVID-19 Update on Education Abroad
Travel for Office of International Affairs managed programs during autumn semester, winter break and spring semester is being assessed for viability. Program viability decisions will be rendered as follows:
- Third party provider programs, direct enroll programs, and exchange programs with August start dates: June 4, 2021
- Faculty-led programs with winter break travel: August 9, 2021
- Spring semester 2022 programs: September 24, 2021
- Spring break 2022 faculty-led programs and summer 2022 programs with required pre-requisite courses: November 10, 2021
Should it be determined that a program is not viable, decisions may be rendered earlier than the published deadline dates. These viability dates are for OIA-managed programs only.
Education Abroad for Students of French and Italian
The Office of International Affairs and the Department of French and Italian sponsor a variety of language and culture study abroad programs. Education abroad can expand your worldview, enhance your career prospects and ultimately change your life. At Ohio State, you have the opportunity to gain an education abroad experience by taking classes through an exchange program or foreign university, complete an independent study or service learning project, conduct research or participate in an internship program. This guide offers preliminary information on current programs. For further information about application procedures, accommodations, costs, and credits, please consult the Office of International Affairs.
A variety of funding opportunities are available to students interested in studying abroad in French or Italian programs. Students majoring in Romance Studies whose primary languages is French or Italian are also eligible for many awards. Applications for departmental awards are generally due in early February.
